Laboratory Activity 4 Health Promotion and Education

Based on the examined materials in the module 4 (refer to the laboratory module 4 for these materials),
answer the following questions.

HE&P Material #1 (video)

1. What is the message that the material is trying to convey?

The message that the video is trying to convey that there are vaccines that can be given to babies
and children to prevent the disease from happening.

2. Who are the target audience of this material (for whom the message is)?

I think the target audience of this materials are for the new or old parents they are the target
audience because they are the one who are responsible to have their babies vaccinated. Since medical
health workers cannot vaccinated a baby without the parents consent.

3. What are the strengths of this material?

I think the strengths of this video that the song is very catchy but at the same time very informative.
The lyrics of the music really conveys the message. And I love that in the lyrics of the song they also gave
out the diseases that the vaccines can prevent. In addition to that it’s a clever idea that they gave out the
name of the vaccines that the parents can get since not all of the parents know what kind of vaccines they
need to asked the medical health worker to give to their babies. Lastly, I liked that the video shows that
parents should not be intimated in getting vaccines to their children. In the video they showed that it is not
hard to get vaccines and that they can get it the any local health center.

4. Do you see any weaknesses of this material? If yes, what it is? 

I don’t really see any weaknesses in this material. It is acceptable since this is created way back at
2017. I just hoped that they could make a new one or they could reach a bigger platform so that they can
reached out to more parents. Since not everyone has the capabilities to watch this video.

HE&P Material #2 (poster)

1. What is the message that the material is trying to convey?

The message that the poster wanted to convey is that if there is any emergency signs such as the
following stated in the poster happens to a pregnant woman or a woman who just gave birth. She should
immediately go to the hospital and consult a doctor.

2. Who are the target audience of this material (for whom the message is)?

The target audience of this poster are the pregnant women and women who just gave birth.

3. What are the strengths of this material?

The strengths of this materials is that it gave all the necessary immediate information that the
target audience needed to know. The information is sufficient enough, to convince the target audience to
follow the poster if those emergency signs did happened to them. I also liked that they emphasizes the
words by they change the font size bigger for the “emergency signs” and change color for “kaligtasan”. I
think that is a clever idea so that they can emphasize what they are trying to convey in the message.

4. Do you see any weaknesses of this material? If yes, what it is? 

The only thing that I can think of as a weakness in this material is that in the poster there is a picture of
a pregnant women and a man. However, the target audience of this poster is not just the pregnant women
but also the women who just gave birth. I see this as a weakness since not all people read the what was
written in the poster sometimes they just looked at the picture. And for me, with the picture that is in the
poster it may confused people that this poster is just intended for pregnant women.
