How to find the luggage check in.

Depending on the airport and airline, travelers may be able to choose from
multiple methods to check their baggage. Taking bags to the ticket counter always
works. Even passengers who check in online or at a self-service airport kiosk can
take their checked bags to the counter. The airport may have a dedicated area just
for luggage drop-off, or you may have to wait in line to reach an agent.

To find the luggage check in you should follow the signs at the airport.

How to find a cafeteria.

You can use a Google map to find a café which will suit you preferences.

How to find the luggage cart area

Baggage carts can be found in the area of check-in counters, baggage claims,
terminal entrances, bus parking, access to car parks.

How to check in at the airport

1. Find the appropriate check-in gate (point) for your flight.

2. Have your documents ready – passport (or national ID), online reservation
booking number (code), or a paper copy of your ticket (if you have one).

3. At the check-in desk, you will be asked to present the documents listed
above, and you can hand over checked baggage which will be weighed and then
sent to be loaded onto the plane.

4. After presenting your documents and checking your baggage, you will
receive a boarding pass which enables you to board the plane.

5. Once the check-in procedure is completed you should proceed to the

appropriate gate, where each passenger undergoes a security check.

6. During the security check, passengers must place objects like keys,
telephones, belts, electrical equipment, as well as coats, jackets, and scarves in
the baskets provided and put them on the conveyer belt.

7. After the security check, you can proceed to the appropriate gate, where you
will then board the plane. The boarding time is indicated on your boarding pass.
At boarding time, airport staff will make an announcement informing passengers
they may board the plane.

Most trains have an 'engine'. First class is located behind the engine or as the
last carriage

What kind of travel card to buy?

It depends on a country you are travelling to. In Kyiv payment each trip on
urban public transport is inexpensive - 8 UAH (~$0.28). But there is no day tickets
at all. Passes are available only for month (only from 1 to last day of calendar
month) and for half-month (from 16th to last day of calendar month), which are
usually not suitable for tourists.

 Those passes (for month or for half-month) can be for metro only (it's
cheaper) or metro +bus+tram+trolley-bus (more pricey) or some weird
combination (for example metro+bus but without trams).

Additionally there are cards which where you can simply put trips. If you by
10 trips at once - you pay same 8 UAH per trip. If you buy more - there is tiny
discount (for example 11-20 trips purchased at once cost 7.7 UAH per trip). This
card will be only to metro, there is no possibility to utilize trip from this card in
tram or bus.

Exercise 5, p. 111

There are two private hire car companies with a special kind of taxi service
appointed by BAA London Gatwick. They work around the clock and you can
travel to any destination you prefer. You don’t have to be worried about being
overcharged by the taxi driver – both companies have their share of charges so that
they will take fair share of money for the entire journey.

For using this hire car service, firstly you should pre-book the taxi journey in
advance. Then you have to ask the driver to wait at the relevant terminal arrivals
concourse with a card displaying your name. So you can find the proper person and
you won’t be deceived by the representatives of the other (mostly unfair) car hire
services. In this such case you will definitely enjoy your trip.
