What do you perceive to be the
main message of the film?
The message being portrayed in
the film is that to be true to
oneself. It would be tough for us,
people, to live out and to find the
true nature of ourselves behind
our masks. It will take years and
time to ponder oneself what truly
one’s will is. But what is really
caught my attention is that,
behind a mask, there is beauty
inside and when you take off the
mask, there is freedom. Let us just
bear in mind that, it is not the
community that tells you what to
do or who you should be, but it is
in yourself how you will carve and
change your world.
How does the film relate with
Plato’s Allegory of the Cave?
The film does relate to Plato’s
work, that is, Allegory of the Cave
which linked it into today’s reality.
Plato plotted the story as to what
reality world truly meant to. The
chained prisoners in the cave
were hearing awful sounds
outside the cave, and were seeing
some my unfathomable shadows
that they hold on to. One of
prisoners puzzling out what the
outside world does feels like. One
day, he was freed and witnessed
himself those unimaginable
pictures that crossed in his mind
when he was in the cave. He was
convinced that the world he
looked for, was the reality itself.
He encouraged the other
prisoners to see the world, but
they opposed. And thus, this
relates to the film that no one will
attest the same feeling except
you, yourself.

What reflections about yourself
surfaced after watching the short
film?
After I have watched the short
film, I once recall myself way back
when I was in Junior High. I was
self-conscious- the way I speak,
move, and communicate with
other people always left me
doubts and queries; I was locked
and imprisoned by my own self.
But when I realized little by little
that, all those queries and doubts
were the answer as I, myself, was
looking for. One thing for sure I
learned along the way of my
journey is that, we do not need to
adapt everyone’s surroundings,
because there is always a room of
for each one us that will make us
be loved and special.
