Q1) What is the history of the "open source" software


movement in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s?

Ans:
With the beginning of GNU/Linux project software moment has begun
during the 1980s with these part of things opened up and modding the
product has gotten well known.

In 1990s, website based companies emerged and made the use of web
servers extensively and they are now called as HTTP server. Many open
source projects have produced a good quantity of useful software.

In the early 2000s big software corporations see free software as a


threat to their business. Basically the software developments is a work in
progress throughout many years and hard works by many different
people and they are still succeeding in today society and is still growing
Q2) How has the "open source" software movement made an
impact on society as a whole?

Ans:
The Open Source software movement has made a huge impact on
society It has impacted on society as a whole by forming a community
and are trying to make software available for anybody to use or modify.
It is cool to see people working together and do great things. It also
teaches us to solve problems and be the change that you want to see in
the world today and society benefits from it in a special way – and this
might be the most important benefit that Open Source offers. People are
now unified and working together to create software.

Q3) How has the "open source" software movement made an


impact, personally, on you and your life?

Ans:
Open source has impacted a lot before long ago people only know
Wikipedia to know anything now there are infinite no of websites to
learn and most of the are free to use . most of the college students use
freely available recourses and there are many I can find which are
reliable to use that’s helps me in a great way .now a days anything I
need I would directly use the free software’s without them most of the
works would be ten time than now.

Q4) What is the likely future of the "open source" software


movement?

Ans:
In the future, the open software movement will continue to grow and
become more popular. Software’s that are not free will have to compete
with the open software in order to attract customers.
But now a days another trend is becoming popular by offering part of
the software can be used free and remaining as paid which in terms
used as Subscriptions, offers etc..

different areas.

These are some of top-ten open source projects in different areas:

“Open Source” community of your own choice. Search for the
open-source volunteer, contribute for a few days. Once you

Ans:
Many days I have searched for open source communities so that I can
contribute them anything I can so that I can improve my skills. After
many days I found a open source community that is quite interesting
which is Wikipedia where we can edit and contribute on it by adding
references or images , writing new article or expanding an existing one
etc.
