REFLECTION ON IPCRF MID YEAR MENTORING AND COACHING

1. What new skills, information or understanding have I learned from this coaching and
mentoring?

Answer:

As a neophyte teacher I learned a lot during our IPCRF Mentoring and Coaching
with Maam Maria Shiela C. Maglente. She encouraged us to work hard, provide corrective
feedback to our learners, build trust with one another in our group, support and help one
another and she instructed us to develop our identified goal which is to be Outstanding in
our IPCRF Rating.

2. How will I use what I learned in my own teaching? How will my students be affected by
these changes?

Answer:

I will use what I have learned in my own teaching by explaining to my students the
importance of having a good rapport with one another. I will explain to them that teaching
relationship should be based on trust, confidentiality, mutual respect and sensitivity.

I am sure that whatever change the educational system may have, my students will
take it in a positive way because students nowadays are more resilient than before. They can
easily adopt to whatever situations they encounter.

3. What did I learn about myself as a teacher through this professional development
experience?

Answer:

I learned about myself as a teacher through this professional development

experience, that being a teacher

 I should meet all the deadlines for the given task or reports
 I have to show respect for my colleagues and students
 I have to improve efficiency by accepting whatever feedback I may receive from
my co-teacher.
 I should refrain from negativity and any gossip
 I should accept extra assignments and committee works without any hesitations.
 I should engage in continuing education by attending seminars/ webinars related
to teaching.
