First of all, in politics there is always a change because change is inevitable.

Many people have a

tendency to see only once side of the spectrum. By looking at all sides, you will be able to have a more
complete view of the topic at hand. At the end of the day, their is no “RIGHT” view on political topics,
but being well read on certain topics will make developing a point of view much easier. I would like to
give you the old analogy of the men in a dark room feeling an elephant. Each one thinks he's correct
where in reality they're all wrong. The definition of politics is looking after the affairs of the people. The
person(s) appointed to look after the affairs of the people are therefore accountable to the people.

When we look across the world we see countries with dictatorships. As they fail to meet the basic
definition we can immediately see that this is bad politics. Other countries the ruler(s) are elected in but
then rule with no regard to the people. This also fails to meet the definition and is bad politics and gives
politics a bad name. In other countries the voting of a ruler has become a ritual where real power is held
by the wealthy elite. Again due to bad politics the people's needs are not met.

Politics has always been fluid. The formation of empires who would invade other lands to exchange their
territories and take what they wanted. When this became unfashionable we saw the rise of colonialism.
You can conquer a land and take what you want. When this went out of fashion we were introduced to
imperialism. You don't need to send your armies to conquer a land when you can control the ruler.
Today we live in a time of imperialism. The powerful nations of the world dominate the weaker nations.
As a result the is a huge disparity of wealth and living standards. When we study history and see how
mankind has progressed we understand that the underlying principles have not changed much. The fight
for power, influence and resources dominates politics.
