Learning other languages allows you to enrich your life, experience new ideas,

express yourself to others in a way understandable. It is time to reflect on the

Language learning depends on listening. Listening provides the aural input that
serves as the basis for language acquisition and enables learners to interact in
spoken communication.
Effective language instructors show students how they can adjust their listening
behavior to deal with a variety of situations, types of input, and listening purposes.
They help students develop a set of listening strategies, activities and match
appropriate strategies to each listening situation.

What different types of listening activities are; and what strategies we can adopt
for improving listening skill in English Language.

a. Vocabulary catching activity

The teacher would present an item, and the
students are asked to collect the different
words that the teacher makes use of. the
student who collects most number of words
would be declared winner of the contest.

b. Structure catching activity

different linguistic structures that the teacher makes use of. the student who

d. Poetry Summarizing
The Teacher Would Recite a Poem, and the Students are asked to listen
carefully. After the presentation is completed, the students are directed to write
a summary of the poem.
