Course Description : This course is designed to support students in developing their research
capabilities and to assist them in defining their mode of enquiry. The course has been
constructed to guide students through a range of issues and considerations which should
inform their general approach to research. It will give students a general understanding of
research, its methodologies, its statistical elements, its challenges and its organization,
including in creative practice. Students will be introduced to a range of research statistical tools
and designs which will be equipped to plan and organize their research, as well as to
communicate their findings.
Course Outcomes:
1. Choose a significant topic which is timely and of current issue and clearly delimited.
2. Apply the most appropriate research methodology with the design clear and in accordance
with the scientific method of research.
3. Prepare a research proposal following acceptable APA format and mechanics with adequate
documentation.
4. Defend the research proposal developed in the class.
