Fruity Summer Ices

INGREDIENTS
Choose one of the following fruits:
2 medium mango
Or/ 250g punnet berries
(strawberries, blueberries or raspberries)
Or/ 500g seedless watermelon

Makes 1-1¼ cups

(Fills 1 x Happy Baby® Freezer Tray)

STEP BY STEP
1. Prepare chosen fruit and place in a bowl. Happy Baby®
- For mango, cut off the cheeks and scoop out the flesh. Freezer Trays
- For berries, hull the strawberries and slice.
- For watermelon, remove the rind and chop.

2. For mango and berries add 2 Tablespoons of cooled boiled

water to the bowl. Watermelon does not require added water.

3. Use a handheld blender or food processor to puree your

chosen fruit until a smooth consistency. Place in Happy Baby®
Freezer trays and freeze until required.

4. Serve cold to baby.

W
arning: Please do not give a whole ice cube to baby on its own.
Ice cubes can be a choking hazard, cut the gums or chip the teeth
of babies.
Each of the methods for serving below are recommended to
reduce the above hazards:
- Serve the ice cube crushed like slushy style ice
- Place the ice cube in a damp face washer for the baby to
suck on. This is especially soothing for baby when teething
- Place the ice cube in a mesh baby feeder.

HINT:
• For a variation in flavour, try a combination of fruits (i.e.
raspberries and watermelon) or the addition of baby yoghurt
for a creamier style ice.
• For toddlers prepare as Fruity Summer Icy poles- insert an
icy-pole stick into the mixture after an initial 30 minutes of
freezing. Place back in the freezer to completely set.
