BNP-A9419-22 MELDAS-84 MAINTENANCE MANUAL ee otizernic Notes for reading of this manual 1. The items required for maintenance of the NC unit have been compiled in this manual, and it should be used together with the other manuals (handling manual, explanations issued by the machine maker). 2. This manual is based on the standard specifications, and it should be noted that differences may exist according to the machine maker. : 3. As this manual is intended for the general user as well as the machine maker engineers, nothing should be done in regard to parts which are not understood. This manual has been compiled as the text for the MELDAS training school. For deeper understanding, participation in the training school is recommended. 5. As far as possible, it has been tried to match the contents of this manual with the NC unit body, but some differences may exist. Contents Page 1. Outline .......- po00 - 6 2. In regara to any defects, detailed considerations have been made to facilitate diagnosis of the trouble points. Special features 1. The logic part is composed of SimicxopEode S(EPB)® and SHalegueNeperatientmnTe MARE and by use of the multiprocessor method, the number of parts has been re- duced widely, so that installation on one board has become possible. 2. The operation part uses a completely drip-proof and dust~proof flat-touch keyboard. 3. By use of an indirect cooling method with built-in heat exchanger, the cabinet part was completely enclosed without internal temperature rise, so that the resistance against the environment has been improved widely. 4. The main heat-generating parts (servomotors, transistor amplifier, transformer, logic unit) all have a built-in overheat protection circuit, so that equipment burning and fires from abnormal use and environment conditions are prevented. 5. Logic part and drive part have built-in operation mo- nitoring circuits, which prevent machine breakage and erroneous cutting from erroneous operation. By use of a CRT character display, the operationality is improved, and the self-diagnosis function also has become more substantial. 2. Composition of the NC unit 2.1. Installation adjustment sequence At the time of installation of MELDAS-84, pay attention to the following items. When this is not done, the NC may not develop its functions sufficiently. 6.1. Environment conditions (1) Ambient temperature During operation: Within 0 °c to 45 °C Even when the ambient temperature is within 0 to 45 °C, places exposed to direct sunlight, near heat-generating bodies, outdoors, etc. should be avoided. (2) Humidity Normal: Relative humidity max. 75% High humidity causes insulation deterioration and accelerated ageing of the parts. Special dehumidifi- cation is not required, but installation at places easily exposed to humidity should be avoided. (3) Vibrations During operation: Max. 0.5 G During transport: Max. 3.5 G (4) Atmosphere - Separate talks are required for use in environments with especially much dust, organic particles, or high concentrations of corrosive gas. Direct contact of NC body, motors, detectors, cables, etc. with oil definitely must be avoided. 7 6.2. Input power supply QM (2) (3) (4) Input voltage For use in Japan: ac 200/220 v 119% For foreign use: AC 200/220/230/240/380/415/440/460/ +108 -158 Frequency: 50/60 Hz + 1 Hz 480/550 Control unit power supply: 0.8 kVA Drive part power supply: Refer to the drive part specifications External connections As erroneous wiring causes defects of the control unit etc., the wiring must be confirmed before power is supplied. qQ) Connection of the drive units When the power unit and the transistor amplifiers are built-in in the control unit, the wiring between these units has been confirmed at the plant before shipment, but in case of installation in a cabinet provided by the machine maker, the wiring should be confirmed. (For the cable connection diagram, refer to item 18 "Transistor amplifier functions and handling".) © When the used drive motor has no built-in Clixon, short-circuit Gl and G2 of the transistor amplifier. {All motors of the HD series have a built-in Clixon.) © Tighten the case earth of the transistor amplifier with the installation screw, and connect it to the transformer earth of the transformer unit. 72 Fig. (2) (3) «) Transistor amplifier connection For confirmation of the wiring between external units and transistor amplifiers, refer to item 18. Tran- sistor amplifier functions and handling for the cable connections. Detector connections Confirm that the connectors for each axis detector on the control unit side are connected correctly. When the cables have been manufactured by the machine maker, also confirm the cable connections. (Refer to "Detector gearbox functions and composition" for the cable connections.) Signal line connection Confirm that other connectors are connected correctly at the correct positions. (Refer to item 5. "Hardware system diagrams".) Satay Gad (ad ie Soil [ae aor Gal aa ons 6.1.
