1. Activity Description
Step 1: Reading
Go to the Learning Environment unit 1 and read Chapter one: Phonetics and Phonology
definition and distinction. In Introductory Phonetics and Phonology of English. (pp. 1-3).
• The definition of Phonetics, also describe the articulatory features and give
examples.
• The definition of Phonology, also describe the suprasegmental features and give
examples.
• The difference between phonetics and Phonology.
Step 3: Reading
Go to the Learning Environment unit 1 again and read the Chapter Two: The Mechanism
of Speech Sounds. In Introductory Phonetics and Phonology of English. (pp. 5-12).
Inform about your selection in the forum of this activity, so that, no English sound is
repeated.
In the Initial Information Environment, you must: check the date and time of the first
web conference of the course in the link: Synchronous meetings by webconference.
In the Learning Environment, you must: Read the documents of the unit 1 and
participate in the forum of the Task 1 – Mind map
