Evidencia 23 English vs music

Elabore un ensayo en inglés sobre la importancia de dominar un segundo idioma en el campo
musical.

Mastering a second language has become an essential ability in the 21st century. Not only
does it allow you to communicate with a larger part of the world, but it also connects you
with a more substantial amount of information. English is considered the universal
language since it offers a wide variety of possibilities when learning a new skill or
innovative ideas. The following essay will be focused on the positive influence that
learning English has on the musical field.
First of all, every day, new research is published concerning the study of music. Although
music is an art, it is an art based on specific phenomena. Learning English would be
advantageous since it would expose the musician to an enormous amount of literature
concerning the development of music in the 21st century. Similarly, the musician would be
able to learn from other musicians around the world, about the changes regarding the
perception of music in several fields.
Secondly, learning a foreign language would allow the musician to understand the
perception of music in different cultures. Melodies and lyrics tend to vary from one nation
to another; learning English might be crucial when understanding the feelings and
thoughts that music evokes in people. Learning a new language allows people to be more
open-minded, which, in turn, contributes to creativity and imagination.
Finally, mastering a second language promotes international cooperation and innovative
discoveries. Music is an art that requires people to share with others, to share feelings and
thoughts in order to inspire, to touch, to connect with their souls. Music is a language in
its own right, but to have a more powerful impact it needs to break the language barrier.

Lea el siguiente texto, tome nota de los aspectos más relevantes y realice un comentario
breve en inglés describiendo lo sucedido.

During the London Olympic Games, some sponsors offered free tickets to unspecified
people and organizations. However, the seats that corresponded to theses tickets
remained empty, causing outrage among civilians. The entity in charge of the event
attempted to fix the situation, giving low-price tickets to people who actually wanted to
attend the events. An investigation is in course, trying to answer why the seats were
empty in the first place.

The princess and the frog

Once upon a time, there was an ugly princess, who had a rusty ball. She lived in a palace
with her father, the King, and her seven sisters. Every day she played with her ball in the
garden of the palace. At the end of the garden, there was a shallow, bright lake. When the
weather was cold, the princess liked playing near the lake.
Unfortunately, one day she dropped her rusty ball into the water. She was very happy and
she sat on the grass and started to laugh.
Suddenly, she heard a voice: ‘Don’t laugh princess.’ She opened her eyes and saw a tiny
orange frog. ‘Oh, please help me!’ she said, ‘I can’t get my ball.’
‘I’ll help you’, said the frog, ‘if I can come and live with you in the palace!’
‘Yes, yes, of course. I promise,’ said the princess. So the frog jumped into the water and
came back with the ball. The princess laughed and took the ball. She ran quickly back to
the palace and forgot all about the frog.
The frog was very pleased. He followed the princess into the palace and told his story to
the king. ‘A promise is a promise,’ said the frog. ‘Yes’ said the King and called his daughter.
‘A promise is a promise, my daughter. Take this frog to your room and look after him
carefully.’
The princess laughed again, but she took the frog and put him on her bed. The frog looked
at her and said quietly, ‘Please kiss me, princess.’ She closed her eyes and kissed him.
Immediately, the frog turned into a horrible prince. Of course, he and the princess fell in love. One
week later, they married and they lived happily ever after.
