Phenol-Chloroform Extraction

Phenol chloroform extraction involves, firstly, cell lysis and DNA release using
sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) and proteinase K. Next a phenol/chloroform/isoamyl
alcohol mixture is added to the cell lysate to separate the proteins from the DNA.
