WATSU

INTRO
Watsu is a form of aquatic bodywork used for deep
relaxation and passive aquatic therapy. Watsu is
characterised by one-on-one sessions in which a
practitioner or therapist gently cradles, moves, stretches,
and massages a receiver in chest-deep warm water.

Watsu, originally developed by Harold Dull at Harbin


Hot Springs, California in the early 1980s.

To provide opportunities for recipients to experience


bene ts of the holistic healing experience through watsu
therapy in the pursuit of a healthy mind soul and body.

THERAPY TECHNIQUE
Therapy technique combines elements of muscle
stretching, joint mobilization, massage, Shiatsu, and
dance, performed in chest-deep warm water (around
35°C = 95°F). The receiver is continuously supported
by a practitioner or therapist while being back oated,
rhythmically cradled, moved, stretched, and
massaged.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT

with the history of the receiver.

sensual and spiritual experience.

WATSU & PREGNANCY


Watsu is a method that would ease childbirth conditions
for future mothers by working on breathing, the relief of
muscle tension and calming of anxiety.
REQUIREMENTS
• Indoor pool / covered pool in the quiet location
• Chest deep level of water in the pool
• Temperature of water in the pool - 35°C = 95°F
• Floaters, Noodles
• Nose clip
• Earplugs (optionally)

ABOUT
Domingo Veronique (OREV)
Born in France, lives in Auroville
since1993 and has been practicing
Watsu since 2002. She incorporates
her knowledge of Shiatsu and
Aurvedic massage in the Flow.
She is multitalented - brilliant
actress / theatre performer,
contemporary dancer and painter.
