1.

From the middle part of your diagram, which do you think is the incurable defect/vice of
the Filipinos? Why do you think so?
- From 19th to 21st century, corruption and abuse of power among the higher ups have
been notable and noticeable in the country, may it be the foreigners or friars who have
ruled our land in the early days or the politicians or even the executives in workplace
nowadays. According to Abrugar (2014), corruption is persistent and had been
destroying the lives of the people in this country and an impossible thing to stop. I
think that corruption is incurable, however, I also think that this could be stopped. I
believe that there are still honest and decent officials and higher ups who could
minimize and track corruption in our country, we just need to be more vigilant on
whom to choose in the position.

2. Give some recommendations on how we can eliminate the vices and getting rid of those
can help us grow as a nation.
- In line with the previous question, I think that we must first elect the officials whom we
think is worthy and who actually has a vision and action to eradicate not just
corruption but also other problems in our country. We need someone who could
impose laws for the betterment of our country or someone who is strict in
implementing and executing the laws among his or her constituents (Abrugar, 2014).
For example, the SOGIE bill, due to continuous discrimination among genders, this bill
was proposed, however, there is a lack of leading the people with the right information
regarding the bill wherein this creates misunderstanding among others that only the
LGBTQ+ community are covered in the bill. The bill could actually help the people to
stop from discriminating others since they would be afraid as there is a law that could
protect the people against it. When it comes to discrimination, I think that we should
also start from ourselves, we must think and reflect that all of us are equal and all are
appreciated. In conclusion, we must start within ourselves, let us be a responsible and
disciplined netizen, citizen, and a voter if we want a change in our country.
