1. Briefly discuss history as an academic discourse. 20pts

 History as an academic discourse. history is important to us because history is the


road map to the better future it also tell us to learn from the past so that we cannot
repeat the wrong decision that we made from the past. despite its complicated
nature has never been in the focus of the linguistic study. Present interest in
history can be explained by the desire of every nation to establish its place in
history, to reveal its national and cultural identity, to define its role in the
development of society in the past. History is considered an academic discourse
because it includes the concept of conversation, the language employed, and a
framework that allows for a high degree of communication in the classroom,
history is regarded an academic discourse. History as a discourse is a series of
tactics of organizing and sequencing events and past systems according to
individual outlook, interest, objective or goals. The discourse can take many
forms, including metacognition, presentations, debate, listening, writing, and
critiquing others' work, and can range from peer-to-peer to whole-class
discussion. What is important is that students can process and interact using
academic historical words. History as an academic discourse is important because
it will help us to learn new thing and understand in better way, it also helps to
improve on how we talk how we speech or write. It also helps to identify or to
learn thing even it is written to a historical text.

2. Explain why despite colonial historiography’ hostility to the Filipinos, they are
still considered important to modern day historians. 20pts

 Despite colonial histography’s hostility to the Filipinos, they are


still considered important to modern day of historian, because the idea or
the main point of the past histography is there they are not going to fade it is
depending to the historians on how they understand the idea of the past
historiography, it also pe a reference or the secondary source for the new
historian. For example, Teodoro A. Agoncillo is considered one of the most
important historians of our time. His new brand of historiography did away with
conventional ways of writing the history of Philippines through the eyes of
foreigners and introduced a more Filipino-centric style, seeing the events of the
Philippines unfold through the eyes of Filipinos. Today, his works are considered
essential to the study of Philippine history, and have also transcended to the
realm of classic literature that make them to be considered as important to
modern historian.
