Activity 1
Mental health – the way you cope with the demands of daily life has to do with your mental health. Being able to solve
problems is part of good mental health. People who have good mental health are able to: handle stress and solve
problems effectively, accept new ideas and new ways of doing things, and adjust to change.
Emotional health – has to do with how you express your feelings. Sharing your feelings with others is important to your
emotional health. People who have good emotional health do these things: express their emotions in a healthy manner,
deal with sadness and ask for help when they need to, and accept both their own strengths and weaknesses.
Social health – another aspect of health that needs to be nurtured is the social aspect. Social health has to do with a
person’s ability to build and maintain satisfying relationship with others. A person’s ability to develop fruitful and happy
relationships depends on certain factors. These include: The ability to make self-sacrifices particularly when it comes to
giving one’s time and energy, a healthy self-image that allows a person to maintain healthy relationship with self-
confidence, and a strong sense of identity, which allows a person to grow and thrived alongside others.
