Mesh Analysis-II
Mesh analysis
Steps to be followed:

• Identify the meshes. Let “m” be the number of meshes.


• Name the meshes as 1, 2, 3, …, (m) and their associated mesh currents are I1,
I2, I3, …. , Im .
• Assume the mesh currents either in CW or in CCW direction. Preferably in all
the meshes consider in a particular direction.
• Write the branch currents in terms of mesh currents.
• Write the equation (as per KVL and Ohms law) for each mesh.
• Solve the (m) simultaneous equations for finding the mesh currents, I1, I2, I3,
…. , Im.
• Using these mesh currents, the circuit can be solved.
