My Favorite Teacher

With a love for lighter shades, she would often consider pastel colors for her wardrobe. Just like
her choice for colors, she was a calm and quiet individual. This is the story of Ms. Nasreen, Principal of
our school. Her personality reflected only success and she had this aura in her approach that would
convince anyone to do anything. She reminds me of the golden times we have spent under her leadership
and keeps contributing to the choices I make in life. She is one of the most important characters in
shaping my life.
It’s natural for anyone to react differently to different scenarios specially when handling an entire
school is concerned. This Gentlewoman however would only put up a smile in her face from the moment
she entered the campus. It’s as if nothing in the wide-open world can become a cause of irritation. She
held a tremendous control over herself. Her face would never get gloomy. She welcomed everything with
a light smile slightly bending the corners of her lips. When shocked or surprised she would only get her
eyebrows lifted up for a fraction of a second and the same old smile would take over.
Love for Jewelry is common among the 90’s women. Ms. Nasreen was no exception, in fact she
took her love for Jewelry to a whole new level. If looked at her for an instant, it would feel as if she is
being showered down upon by jewelry. However, none of that was gold. Her jewelry would reflect the
aristocracy that run down her blood. Those ancient looking bangles on her hand would not fit her
perfectly but still somehow claimed her ownership only. The 3-layer necklace she wore felt like a part of
throne weighing more that a kilogram. Her earrings were like the jewels of the crown. She truly
represented a family of aristocratic blood.
A flawless skin with a light of positivity shining all over her body made Ms. Nasreen different
from every other individual back then. She would roam around every corner of the campus and spread
words of wisdom. She would treat everyone equally regardless of the class or race. She would often call
sessions with students to learn about our feelings and issues and listen to everyone individually with
patience. Sometimes such sessions would last hours and still being at her 60s she would just sit there for
everyone to feel better safer and more homely. Such affection and care from an ordinary human being is
more than just unbelievable to experience. She was a light of Hope, a pride for everyone associated with
the school.
Whenever I get some time out of this busy life, I like to sit for a while and reflect back on my
past, those beautiful days, those learnings from a great Woman who has helped me to be what I am today.
This makes me feel down as whatever I speak will fall short in front of her contributions. One may ask
the Bricks of those walls. Perhaps, they can tell a better story. A story of an Individual who has laid the
foundation of success for thousands of students and shaped them into human beings we see today.
