Learner’s Development Checklist at Home

Checklists are measurable and can be done easily in daily life. They are observations of a specific list of
items, skills, or behaviors to be performed. Parents will also be involved in the assessment process,
especially during online classes. Parents will be encouraged to observe and listen to their child to detect
and target the important milestones and behaviors in their child’s development.
Parents will observe their child based on the following level of proficiency.
Not Observed (NO) – not evident or observed
Beginning ( B) – the child struggles with his/her understanding, skills have not been acquired or
developed adequately
Developing (D) – the child possesses the minimum knowledge, skills and understanding but needs help
throughout the performance of the tasks
Proficient ( P ) - the child develops the fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding and can transfer
them independently through the performance of the tasks
Advanced ( A) – the child at this level exceeds the core requirements in terms of knowledge, skills and
understandings and can transfer them automatically and flexibly through performance tasks
Parents are encouraged to write on the comment box the other observation that they have observed with
their child. This will help the teacher to determine the extent of help that she may give to the child and to
the parents.
