Project
You have been requested to prepare a (draft) HR Policy for an organisation of your choice. For
this project select an organisation you have previously worked in, the organisation you are
currently employed in or an organisation you would like to work with in the future.
(You will need to access and present information/data about this business to accurately reflect the
nature of their work and services provided).
Provide a detailed overview of the business, describe the nature of the business activities and
work force size. Reflect on the HR Department size and number of personnel employed. Identify
current policy documents.
The following tasks require you to demonstrate how you determine strategies for delivering HR
services, the management and evaluation of that delivery and the management of the integration
of business ethics in HR practices.

Task 1
Prepare an Action Plan for use in the preparation of drafting your Policy. Your Action Plan should
clearly reflect:
• The stages used to gather key information including the likely impact external business
environments may have on your HR requirements,
• Communication strategies used with stakeholders
• Documenting and reviewing processes used.
• Your HR strategies and planning processes and their relationship to the organisation’s
business and operational plans including calculating the HR ROI for the organisation.
Identify and list all stakeholders to be engaged in the development including strategies for seeking
and analysing feedback on level of satisfaction, your review processes and gaining support for the
change process. Roles and responsibilities of stakeholders engaging in and approving of the final
HR policy should be clearly explained. Your action plan should also explain how training needs will
be identified and support arranged. time frames and costs for implementation.

Your Action Plan should be no longer than 2 x A4 pages.

Task 2
Using your Action Plan, draft an HR policy for this organisation. The document is to clearly state
the type of policy and who it is intended for, within the business. The format must be consistent
with other corporate documents. Any terms used within your Policy must be defined clearly.
Ensure that your HR policy includes clear statements detailing the following:
• Legislative requirements (Acts to be identified and described)
• Levels of risks identified should this Policy not be implemented correctly
• Service specifications including performance standards and timeframes, Code of conduct,
workplace diversity and ethical behaviour expectations
• Feedback strategies and analysis, and how it is used to modify HR delivery
• Review and revision periods for the HR policy document including arrangements for
monitoring QA processes.
Your (draft) HR Policy document should be no shorter than 1,500 words (approximately five
pages). Attach relevant resources or documents that will assist in any future implementation of
the Policy. This text is not to be included in word count.

Quality outcomes
Ensure that your submission is (i) grammatically correct (ii) error-free (iii) in simple English (iv)
comprises of an average of 15 words for each sentence.
Your document must have a Table of Contents with appropriate page numbers. Separate
headings and paragraphs are to be presented for each new content/topic.
The document is to contain a minimum of 1,500 words in total. Attachments/templates or
resources are not to be included within this word count.
