Kinds of Meeting
Meeting by purpose:
a. Explanation meeting
An explanation meeting is a meeting held for the purpose of conveying an explanation to the
meeting participants from the leadership.
b. Troubleshooting Meeting
Problem solving meetings are held to find solutions to a problem that is currently happening or
being faced.
c. Negotiation Meeting
Negotiation meeting is a meeting held with the aim of avoiding the emergence of a dispute,
seeking a middle way so as not to harm both parties.
Meeting by nature:
a. Formal meeting.
A formal meeting is a meeting that is held with a prior plan, in accordance with applicable rules
and all meeting participants receive an invitation.
b. Informal meeting.
Informal meetings are meetings that are held informally and not based on an official plan.
c. Open meeting.
An open meeting is a meeting that can be attended by all members of the organization. The
meeting material discussed is a non-confidential matter.
d. Closed meeting.
Closed meeting is a meeting that is held for certain groups within an organization, usually
matters relating to confidential matters are discussed (not or not yet known to the public).
Meeting purpose
The meeting has 6 objectives, including:
1. Sharing information, meetings become a medium for direct information dissemination.
2. Scoping of ideas / ideas, meetings collect various ideas / ideas put forward by the
participants.
3. Evaluation of ideas / ideas, in meetings can produce the right decisions and evaluate
errors from the ideas / ideas put forward.
4. Decision making, the meeting can determine the decisions taken based on the agreed
