I. Learning Outcomes
1. Discuss comprehensively the nature, scope and features of seven (7) arts
2. Discuss painting, architecture, sculpture, dance, music, theater (drama) and literature as forms of arts
3. Discuss, describe and explain cinema and other contemporary art forms
4. Apply all the themes and concepts learned through the different art workshops
5. Perform the different art forms through recorded video
II. Introduction
This module presents the dance, music, drama as a performance arts and film as an art. Lesson 1: Elements of
Architecture refers to the art of designing a buildings or structures; the art and design of building. It also tackles the
different basic requirements in architectural design as well as the style of paintings. Lesson 2: Creative Movement:
Performance Arts which focus on the elements of dance, music, drama and film as an art. Lesson 3: TANGLAW: Film
as an Art focus on the different films produced by the different artists.

1. Historic architecture- has gone through a long cycle of development; what one sees today is the product of the
combination of past principles and styles; the history of architecture is important for us to understand what made the

Drama- it comes from the Greek word “dran” meaning to do, to act or to perform.
Film: It is a series of images that are projected into a series to create the illusion of motion.
Film Literacy is the act of arguing knowledge and values through the use of movies. A film that supports education
through film viewing promotes literacy be it a feature film, documentary, animation, short film, video, television
program and interactive media.
Film, being the most popular term, is used here to refer to motion pictures and the moving picture media in any of
the forms previously stated.
Literacy as used in this text-manual is defined as the ability to “read” audio- visual symbols (although not all may be
able to adopt cognitive ways for a more functional and critical regard of media in their content, forms and functions.
Film performs functions that may be symbolic media also do, (mainly communicate); film’s symbolic signs (words,
