1. Discuss briefly the 4 managerial functions.

How are they related to the organizational functions of


finance, marketing, personnel & production? Discuss.

Planning is an essential function in managing an organization or even at your personal life. It is the
process of envisioning accomplished objectives and goals and working backward to determine how to
complete it. The first step to do in here is to think deeply and wisely a goals and objectives by assessing
both where you are and where you’re going. Strategizing is also under the planning function. With this
establish goals and objectives, the management needs to strategize appropriate actions to perform to
achieve those. The management should also set and list of various alternatives just in case their primary
course of actions does not works. For example, they plan set A as their main tactic, but it doesn’t work
then there is set B to perform to still achieve those goals and objectives.

Organizing is the process of identifying and grouping the work to be performed, defining and delegating
responsibility and authority, and establishing relationships for enabling people to work most effectively
together in accomplishing objectives. The importance of organizing is that it brings together various
departments by grouping similar and related jobs under a single specialization and ensures effective role
job fit for every employee in the organization to avoid confusion and delays.

Leading is the action of guiding people in an organization towards achieving goals. Leaders do this by
influencing employee behaviors in several ways. This is the third basic managerial function and
considered to be the most important and challenging of all managerial activities. Leading is important in
management since it tends to maximize efficiency and to achieve organizational goals.

Controlling is the process through which managers assure that actual activities conform to planned
activities. Control is listed last in the four functions of management but certainly not the least
important. The functions of control are to make sure the business operates according to a plan of action,
and if not, that corrective action is taken to prevent unsatisfactory results and amplify unexpected
positive results. The concept of controlling is providing assurance that events are proceeding according
