3. On July 26, 1941, the Philippine reserve and regular forces were incorporated into
the United States Army under the command of General Macarthur, the combined
forces were called the United States Army Forces in the Far East.

proclamation announcing the end of the American occupation and purpose of the
Japanese expedition.

enemy.

32. On September 2, Japan signed the terms of surrender on board the battleship
Missouri at Tokyo Bay. The war was over
