BITCOIN ≠ BLOCKCHAIN

Is a digital Is the underlying

Currency & datastructure,
application which can be used
made of for many things,
Blockchain including
technology cryptocurrencies

. .

A cryptographically
secured chain of blocks
is described for the first
time by Stuart Haber
and W Scott Stornetta

Blockchain 2.0 is born,

referring to applications
beyond currency
What is A Blockchain?
• A collection of records

• Linked with each other

• Strongly resistant to alteration

• Protected using Cryptography

Types of Blockchain

• Public Blockchain

• Private Blockchain

• Hybrid Blockchain

• Sidechains
Cutting a man in middle
Blockchain replaces this central system with a decentralized ledger of chained records. Each
record is connected to the one before and the one after it, yielding a traceable history of every
transaction. No record can be deleted and no existing records can be altered.

BANK

E.g. direct transfer of Digital-Currency

Technical
Digital Signature
Everyone in the Network need to Sign with their Private key in the Digital
ledger and circulate among them.

Decentralized
No one has to know or trust anyone else. Each member in the network has a
copy of the exact same data in the form of a distributed ledger

Digital Ledger
Every single transaction will be registered in ledger for validating.
It can be view by anyone in the Network

Proof of Work
Miners with high CPU power will valid the ledger and create a new block
Transaction
• To start a Transaction, PERSON A need to send Money to PERSON B

• Every person will have a PUBLIC KEY & a PRIVATE KEY

• Public key will be visible to everyone in the network
• Private key will be visible to self.
• Every one in the Network need to sign in the Ledger to valid the
transaction.

Advantages
• Write-only, immutable, transparent data storage

• Decentralized, no need for intermediaries

• Consistent state across all participants

• Resistant against malicious participants

• Open to everyone

• If something is published on a public blockchain, all participants become witnesses.

Disadvantages

• Energy consumption

• Scalability

• Money laundering

• Personal responsibility
Blockchain Technology can be used in
• Storing medical records

• Digitally signed Notary

• Patents

• Voting
