P ower stations, water treatment
works, communications masts
and similar structures provide the
basic utilities required for our modern
lifestyle. Often subjecting the struc-
ture to very demanding conditions
these utilities have to provide total
reliability every day, while minimising
environmental risk. To balance output
and increasingly important environ-
mental considerations these struc-
tures require extremely high stand-
ards of design and construction.
