Part-Time Technical Advisor, Summer 2021, Boston, MA or Remote

Hue Beauty is a beauty tech startup founded by Harvard Business School students on a mission
to empower every beauty shopper to find the makeup products that work best with their unique
skintone. Our platform integrates directly into beauty brands’ ecommerce websites to help
shoppers find the perfect shade matches for their skin tone through a combination of
AI/ML-driven photo tech, a community of beauty advisors, and customized try-at-home shade
sample kits.

Our founding team came together as 3 women of color who saw the opportunity to combine our
backgrounds in beauty and tech to solve this problem. Janvi (CEO) brings the product and
technical experience from her time as a Product Manager on Google Photos and Google
Search. Nicole (CPO) has deep beauty industry expertise from working at L’Oreal as a
Marketing Director and Chief of Staff on Lancome and Kiehl’s. Sylvan (COO) is a Growth &
Analytics expert having worked at early-stage startups including Airbnb and Tubi. Our team was
also selected as a Top 4 Finalist at the Harvard Business School New Venture Competition and
won the Crowd Favorite prize.

This summer, we’re looking for a technical advisor with full stack web development and/or
AI/ML experience to join our team as we test and iterate on our MVP. This is a great
opportunity for anyone who wants to pursue a CTO role at a startup or start your own company
one day, as you’d get to learn what it’s like to work on an early-stage startup and play a key role
in shaping our product vision and strategy. We’re flexible to your schedule and open to remote
or working in person with our team in Boston. More than anything, we are looking for candidates
who are passionate about our mission to promote diversity & inclusion in beauty.

Skills/qualifications:
● 2-5 years work experience as a software engineer
● Proficiency with either or both:
○ Full stack web development (front-end, backend, database technologies)
○ Computer vision and AI/ML technologies
● Familiarity with UX design tools such as Figma and Sketch
● Self-starter, organized, and gets things done without supervision
● Passionate about our mission
