Section A

Answer 1 :-
(a) a random variable is a number created by a random experiment. A random variable is called discrete if its possible values form
a finite or countable set. A random variable is called continuous if its possible values include a complete period of numbers.

(b) A geometric progression (GP), also called a geometric sequence, is a sequence of numbers that differ from each other by a
common ratio.

Answer 2 :-
The binomial distribution explains the behaviour of a count variable X if the following conditions apply:
The number of observations "n" is determined.
Each observation is independent.
Each observation represents one of two outcomes which is either "success" or "failure"
The probability of "success" p is the equivalent for each outcome.

Answer 3 :-
6 properties of Normal Distribution are
1. The normal distribution curve is bell-shaped
2. The mean, median, and mode are equal and placed at the centre of the distribution
3. The normal distribution curve is unimodal
4. The curve is symmetric around the mean
5. The curve is continuous
6. The curve never reaches the x-axis

Answer 4 :-
PMF – Probability mass function
PDF – Probability density function

Answer 7 :-
A Poisson distribution is a tool that helps to predict the probability of specific events happening when you know how frequently
the event has occurred. It gives us the probability of a given number of events happening in a set period of time.
