Reorientation Guide
First Semester, Academic Year 2020 - 2021

Dear Students,

Let us thank the Lord for an enriching Phase 1 of online classes. There might have been
difficulties encountered during that time, but God has been so good that He has sustained us
up to this time. Praise the Lord!

Phase 2 is now on our doorstep, and your mentors would like to warmly welcome you once
more and to let you know that we are with you in your learning process. Hence, we are
providing you helpful tips as you walk through your classes. We desire that you further
develop your God-given potentials. Please go over this reorientation guide and realize that
there are important responsibilities you must carry. Further, we are providing you a revised
learning design used in our modules. The change has been made to enhance your online
learning and to make it more doable.

The following is the reorientation guide in the form of tips for you to remember and learn by
heart before going through your phase 2 classes:

1. Maximization of Resources
You are encouraged to maximize the resources available to attain the online learning
objectives set by CPAC, as approved by CHED.

a) Time
There must be a regular schedule for study, work, and other activities.

b) Space
There must be a specific place in the house/anywhere where you are to do your learning
activity regularly.

c) Gadget and Load

With on-and-off connectivity based on data availability, you should plan your access
time to the internet carefully to meet class requirements promptly.

d) Financial Aid
Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and other forms of scholarships are blessings from
above. Be serious in doing your part in making adjustments in order to make all ends
meet.

2. Internalization of Student Responsibilities

We are all victims of the pandemic event. Changes in the education system are beyond
everyone’s control. Teachers and students, with the support of the family and CHED need not
worry about the restructured education system because each step in the system still leads each
learner towards the realization of dreams and ambitions amidst the pandemic. You, as the
learner should internalize your role in the fulfillment of your academic goals through the
following:

a) Schedule for Study and Work

Set the schedule for study and work thoughtfully. Schedules should be according to the
family situation and the demands of the learning activities. Class meetings and
classwork must be your priority because these are the reasons why you enrolled.
Household chores and other domestic tasks must have proper schedules. Academic
tasks must also have separate schedules.

b) Connectivity
Gadgets, load, and internet signals are part of the required package when you enrolled.
Maximize these resources for focusing on the learning activities of every subject you
enrolled. In the online class, the fulfillment of dreams and ambitions is possible if we are
willing to make it happen through connectivity.

c) Read and study the lesson

You are required to study the lesson first by following the learning design before
focusing on the outputs. Please remember that outputs/requirements are pieces of
evidence of your learning. Once you have submitted your outputs, your teachers
would assume that you have already learned the lesson.

d) Submit the requirements on time

Each teacher is to set the deadlines for module requirements. Late outputs will still be
accepted. However, deductions will be imposed, depending upon the validity of the
reason. There are no reasons why you cannot fulfill the requirements if you have
internalized your role as the learner.

3. Virtual Classroom Requirements

Virtual classes are fun and easy to manage with proper adjustments before the
teaching-learning activity begins. Meeting halfway is a must for a successful
teaching-learning activity. Success can be achieved without much hassle if there is an
understanding of how to play specific roles. The teacher plays the role of the lesson provider
while the student plays the role of the learner.

a) Communication
Communicate with your teachers and peers to enhance your learning capability. You
may ask for a more detailed explanation and clarification of the lessons presented.
However, class guidelines should be followed, depending on what you and teacher
agreed upon in the class.

b) Abide with the Class Policies

Each class has some easy-to-achieve class policies/guidelines to ensure a better
teaching-learning atmosphere in the virtual classroom. Please abide with these policies.
Example of a class policy: Communications related to academic matters will be
entertained within a scheduled period during the daytime to allow space for each one to
focus on personal tasks.

4. Redesigned Learning Guide

A new learning design is available to address your pressing demands and needs related to
academic activities. Only a maximum of four (4) outputs per module are required. This design
will give ease to everyone, particularly in preparing and checking the outputs. You need to
follow the flow of lesson presentation religiously. Lessons are in the LMS – Learning
Management System (ilearn). Before you submit the outputs, be sure you have fully learned
the lesson. Your compliance means you know the lesson well.

a) C is for connecting to God and to the new lesson

 There is so much blessing if we make God first in everything that we do. So in this
part, you will first have a connection with God. So whatever activity the teacher will
require you here, please do it seriously, and internalize the lesson you will gain
because it will help you understand more about God’s will in your life and help you
grow spiritually.

 Take note of the Learning outcome/s, Enabling outcomes, and Integration of Faith
and Learning (IFL) Outcome/s because you will understand where you are heading
to in the lesson. What you will be learning and what output/s you are to accomplish
while studying the whole module can be found in this section. Outcomes are
pointing you in the right way or direction of the lesson.

 Review of the past module/lesson or motivational activity will also connect, inspire,
and make your mind ready to study the new topic/lesson.

b) P for Pick – you are now picking or gathering new information

 Here, you are expected to listen and understand the video/recorded lecture or read
the handouts or discuss it with classmates/s. Just make sure that you have already
gained the basic knowledge of the lesson after the discussion so that you can fully
understand the next activity/ies.

 Before reading or discussing the lesson with your classmate/s ask first wisdom and
understanding from the Lord. I’m sure He will give you the wisdom you need in that
particular lesson.

c) A for Ascend – you are moving up or advancing in knowledge

 The teacher will give you activities that will test your Higher Order Thinking
Skills (HOTS). It could be comprehension, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, etc.

 Summative test and the IFL happen here.

d) C for Create - you are to prepare and exhibit product output/s of the learning

 By this time, you are expected to have the full knowledge and understanding of the
lesson. So the output/s will serve as evidence/s of your learning.

 Your teacher will provide the rubrics for grading your outputs.

 Kindly do it with honesty, patience, and love so that the result will be satisfying and
beautiful.

 Let us not be satisfied with mediocrity but aim for the best and perfection.

 Pass it before or on the said date to avoid deduction of points.

Your professional destiny begins at CPAC!

5. Stress Management
Nothing exempts us from the impacts of the pandemic. In some way or another, we are to face
our battles. Blaming others will only deepen our struggles and dampen our spirits. While it is
best to create our own anti-stress strategy, we may follow these simple suggestions to manage
our stress. The I LOVE ME acronym is our anti-stress management strategy for this term.

a) Introduce the new self to your old self

Get to know your own body clock and identify the time of the day that is best for
doing your academic tasks.

b) Live a fully active life

Exercise regularly. Each day take a short break to do exercise to facilitate blood
circulation but not to tire you - may be a short walk, jogging, etc.

c) Order yourself to do some recreation

Engage in some healthy but not time-consuming recreation to refresh your mind.

d) Vent out more often

Talk and laugh whenever possible.

e) Eat healthily
Eat healthy regular meals to power your brain cells so they won’t burn easily.

f) Make peace with your body.

Rest and sleep should be on a regular basis. You need to recharge and repair your
body.

g) Enjoy the day of rest

Give time for daily and weekly devotion. Your mind works better if you have inner
peace. Give one full day (24 hours) off for yourself. The seventh day is the rest day designed
by the Lord for each one of us to renew our biological strength and our faith in God. Let
the last day of the week be our rest day and no visiting of modules and submission of tasks
on this day.

I LOVE ME activities can make us feel better.

May God’s blessing be always there for each one. We are looking forward to more fruitful
days with you, dear students!

With love and prayer,

Your SASED Mentors
