The poem tells the reality of life during the reigning of Marcos alongside with the Martial
Law. It is a reflection of the scenario of what and how the Filipinos experienced the
tragic and traumatic event throughout the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos in the
Philippines.
The poem Apo on the wall work based on Martial Law during Marcos regime. And the
author literally stated that Apo was the boss of child's father from its lines 7 to 9. It is
about a child's perspective about Martial Law. Even this also made the reader feel that the
effect of Martial Law.

The poem entitled APO on the Wall was intended for the people who need a glimpse of
the truth. I like the poem for it contains the truth of what had happened in the past years
ago when Martial Law had occur. It was a good poem because it emphasizes the loyalty
of the soldiers.
