1. OVERVIEW
This new Common Hardware CPU board is handled by OmniPCX Enterprise R9.0 since the patch
H1.301.31.b and by the version 13.6 of Actis.

This board covers both Call Server and PCS functions.

Regarding the Call Server function, the same Actis rules as the ones for the previous CS board apply
in OmniPCX Enterprise R9.0. Only in OmniPCX Enterprise R9.1, new Actis rules are applied and
covered by the documentation of the Actis release which is released with OmniPCX Enterprise R9.1.
Regarding PCS function, the previous limitation which makes compulsory the use of an Appliance
Server as PCS in a small branch office if the node contains globally more than 5000 users is
removed thanks to this new board.
The CS-2 board brings the Ethernet Redundancy as a new feature, respect to the previous CS board.
This new function brings also the load balancing.
Compatibilities
• OXE R9.0 version H1.301.31.b
• Actis version 13.6
• BIOS version AMI 9.0
• PC Installer version 2.24

2. CONSTRAINTS & RECOMMENDATIONS

To access the BIOS interface setup of the board, use Ctrl-B or Ctrl-S when prompted during the
startup of the board.
Note
Ctrl-I has not to be used, unless requested by Alcatel-Lucent support.
If the Ethernet duplication is not activated, the second Ethernet interface must not be used.
To load a version in CS-2 boards, the PC Installer HAS to be used in version 2.24 minimum.
While performing a complete installation, the Type of Call Server parameter HAS to be set to
CS-2 and no more to the "Alize" value, used for the previous CS board.
