Good morning, everyone! It is a pleasure to introduce myself. My name is Karen T. Dellatan.

My friends
call me “kar or kars with an S”. Born and raised in Poblacion, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. I’m 21 years
old. I am a graduate of Philippine Normal University-Mindanao, with a degree in Bachelor in Science
Education with Specialization in Physics. Yes, I’m a teacher and an LPT. You might be wondering why and
how I got here since my bachelor's degree may feel very far afield from the workings around here. Well,
on a personal note, I always have an interest and passion for rendering service to people through my
artistic and technical skill in editing and layout-ing. I am currently working as the graphic designer of the
team. I am responsible for delivering ideas and information through visual communication. In layman’s
terms, I make visual designs that is easy for the audience to understand the message. This is important.
After all, one of our aims is to show transparency, and it is imperative that we deliver reports and
translate them to pictures and videos that are not only visually appealing or attractive but also
informative and illuminating to what is really happening in our programs, projects and policies being
implemented. Illustrating the message with visual elements is one thing but one which serves purpose is
another and I believe is powerful enough to make a positive difference. This way we can connect and
reach to people from all walks of life. Besides, there is more than meets the eye when it comes to what
is printed in the paper. And for that reason, we aspire for a lasting, truthful and accurate impression to
the public (for both digital and print mediums). This is a great challenge, as well as a great opportunity
for which I am very grateful for and I look forward to working with all of you. May your day be
wonderful. Thank you.

. I know that a bachelor's degree in English literature may feel very far afield from computer science, but
one thing I've discovered while working as an engineer is the importance of communication

Those were skills that got really sharp through my undergrad experience.

I realized right then and there that editing was a passion, and it still is.

This strengthen my technological skills.

How can you immediately benefit the organization?*

You don't want to drag out your speech, but you also don't want to stumble over your words or read so
fast that nobody can understand you. Try to find a balance and speed that you are comfortable with.
You need to speak slowly enough that everyone can follow along and understand what you're saying,
but not so slowly that it makes your speech lag.
