Human Resource Management: The Chronological Development of HRM
- Provide a brief history of human resource management and the chronological
development of HRM;
- Appropriate HRM practices bring the competitive advantages for the organization. Justify
it;
- Contributions of HRM in retaining talent in the organization i.e. linkage between HRM
practices and talent management;
- The corporate leaders/HR managers consider HR as the strategic business partner of the
organization. Do you agree with this statement? Illustrate/justify your opinion.
- Download, read and critically review 3 latest (published in 2018 & onwards) articles on
HRM, and prepare a one page write up on each of those articles.
In order to complete this assignment/work, you are advised to do an exhaustive research on
HRM to identify the various components/practices of the human resource management. It is
important to note that, HRM is not a stand-alone issue, rather it is an integrated program where a
bundle of selected HRM practices together help retain the talent in the organization.
Realistically, human resource management is the key to success of the organizations, and it
brings the competitive advantage for the organization. In many occasions, HR managers and
experts consider HR as the strategic business partner of the organization. Start with a good
introduction/background of the topic followed by extensive literature review on various HRM
practices. Read as many articles on the topic as you can to present a quality write up.

exhaustive efforts in finding necessary information for the assignment, not just cut & paste from

accepted. This assignment should not exceed more than 14-15 pages including a standard cover
page using 1.5 line space (in the text), having font size 12 (in the text) with Times New
Roman, and heading may be bold with 14 font size. Please use latest APA referencing system
for the reference. If you want to illustrate the concept more than what is expected, you are free
to write more pages of quality write up. One last thing, please keep in your mind that this
would be your first opportunity, I repeat this would be your first opportunity to create positive
