Job Description::

Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) seeks an experienced, motivated, and creative Systems Engineer to support development of lean production technology for
manufacturing production operations.
The position includes duties in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and effectiveness analyses for enterprise scalable systems. The
position will also involve integrating with other global sites Boeing teams in order to coordinate activities as part of a larger BR&T team.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Demonstrable
expertise in systems engineering methods is required. A working knowledge of software development and lean/continuous improvement activities is highly desired.
In this new role, the successful candidate:
Leads design, development and qualification of sophisticated computer and lean production systems to satisfy user/customer requirements. Works under minimal
supervision. Guides and mentors employees.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Assists in research, design, development, improvement and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the
application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
Utilizes engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources in
the creation and validation of manufacturing production information technology

Validates subsystem, system, and system-of-systems concepts by inspection, analysis, test, and demonstration to assure that the system architecture and design concepts
satisfy the intent of customer requirements.
Communicates regularly with Program Management and functional teams. Communicates as required directly with customer to understand need and resolve cross-functional
technical issues. Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Promotes standardization across business activities.
Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Works under general supervision.

Skills:
Must want to work within an agile development environment and should also demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Must enjoy working as part of a
larger team, be comfortable voicing and receiving opinions, and adding overall value to the process and solution. Candidate should have prior experience in best practices for
systems engineering methodologies. Candidate should also be comfortable being a functional leader for systems engineering for a team of interdisciplinary personnel.

Desired Skills::
Experience in systems application of systems engineering frameworks
Experience in using modeling and simulation tools for systems engineering, such as Cameo
Knowledgeable in UML and SysML language’s
Experience in process creation and documentation
Proficient with the MS Office suite of tools
Proficiency in Java, Java Script, Python, C#, C++ or comparable Object Oriented Language
Experience with Discrepancy Reporting/Tracking tools
Knowledge of Standard Version Control Systems (Git, TFS, SVN, Clear Case, etc.)
Experience with Agile project management tools (TFS, Jira, etc)

Qualifications:
Typical Education/Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years of experience, Master's with 7 or more years of experience or PhD with
4 or more years of experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in industrial engineering, systems engineering,
computer science, or related field. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
