Part I. Infant Care (Nurses)

6. Knowledge on safe cutting cord practice.

7. Knowledge on cord cutting cord practice.

8. Knowledge on at least 3 neonate eye infection danger signs (eye


discharge, reddening of eye, and swollen eye)

9. Knowledge on exclusive breast-feeding practice.

10. Knowledge on frequent breast feeding per day of newborn

11. Knowledge on requirement on minimum sleep hours for newborn.


12. Knowledge on neonatal vaccine.

13. Knowledge on minimum number of postnatal checkups for newborn

14. Knowledge on caring low birth with new born care. (Kangaroo mother
care, early and frequent breast feeding and frequent consultation with
clinician)

Part II. Feeding Practices (Mother)

Part III. Newborn Health Assessment (Nurses)

Instructions: The APGAR score is a simple method of quickly assessing the health and vital
signs of a new born baby after delivery. The five criteria assess in the Apgar score are:

1. Appearance (Skin Color)


2. Pulse (Heart Rate )
3. Grimace (Reflex Irritability/ Response)
4. Activity (Muscle Tone)
5. Respiration (Breathing Activity)
