Supply chain management it is a process of which integrating the supply and demand management, not
only within the organization, but also across all the various members and channels in the supply chain.

2. Give examples on an advantage of having e-business.


- Reduces time and money spent
- Keeps the business on trend
- Wider customer base
3. Explain the importance of Supplier Partnership.

Having partnership with the supplier, it benefit the business in some way like loyalty, discounted price
of the materials, and or having some bonus products. The better you know your suppliers, and the
better they know you, the more likely you are to benefit from dedicated service, preferential pricing and
special terms.

4. Give some benefits of a good SCM.


- Improved quality control
- Reduced expenses
- Improved cash flow
5. Make some research on how to create an effective Supply Chain.
- Find dependable suppliers. Make research to identify those who have a strong reputation for
maintaining high standards for quality ways of doing business.
- It requires linking the market, distribution channel, processing, and suppliers.
- Coordinates activities with suppliers and customers. This involves an addressing supply and
demand issue.
6. Enumerate some challenges in creating a good Supply Chain
- Rising energy, fuel, and freight costs, a greater number of global customers, new technology,
increasing labor rates, new regulations, and rising commodity prices mean that operating costs
are under extreme pressure.
- Launching new product, customer demands, and changes in the market. These changes can
come in any direction.
- Relationship with the supplier. Having a problem with the supplier is a big problem for the
company or business in terms of lacking of supplies and the quality of the materials.
7. What is the function of Purchasing in Operations Management?

 The purchasing function is to ensure continuity of supply of raw materials, sub-contracted items and
spare parts and to reduce the ultimate cost of the finished goods. The objective is not only to procure
the raw materials at the lowest price but to reduce the cost of the final product.
8. What is Suppliers Management Operations Strategy?
- It is plan by management team of an organization to allocate and funding the business not only
that it is also concerned with the entire system that produces a product or delivers a service.
9. Give some features of Total Quality Management.
- Customer focus it emphasis in meeting the requirement of both internal as well as the external
customer.
- Continuous process is made to improve the quality, and to reduce internal costs.
- Employees involvement it involves everyone from management director to the junior clerk in
organization.
- Defect-free Approach emphasis on the defect-free work most of the time.

Quality management is the act of overseeing all activities and tasks needed to maintain a desired level of
excellence. 

Quality control is a process through which a business seeks to ensure that product quality is maintained
or improved.

TQM views quality as conformance to internal requirements, Six Sigma focuses on improving quality by
reducing the number of defects.

10. What is Shingo system?

A system may be thought of as a collection of tools, working together to accomplish an intended


outcome. It is a basis for building a sustainable culture of organizational excellence.

11. Explain the ISO 9000 standard.

ISO 9000 standard is a description of a quality management system. It is to provide organizations with
the guidance and tools needed to ensure that their products and services meet external requirements
and drive consistent quality improvement.

12. Enumerate some aspects of SERVQUAL Model.


- Reliability is that confirms the capacity to provide services exactly, on time, and credibly.
- Assurance means creating trust and credibility for the customers. 
- Tangibles it focuses on facilitating materials and physical facilities.
- Empathy focusing on the customers attentively to ensure caring and distinguishing service.
- Responsiveness refers to the eagerness to assist customers with respect and provide quick
service to satisfy.
