Literature is a reflection of life, hence its capacity to bring readers to places, and into different times,
through different perspectives with different backgrounds. This unique feat makes literature an exquisite form of art
to study. Much as its rich history and humble beginnings, the significance of literature has never ceased to exist even
in a more technological era. This article: “Introduction to literature”, does well in giving one a basic understanding
of what literature is, its forms, and the value behind studying it. Moreover, its short discussion on the prominent
figures of certain literary movements sheds light on the evolution of literary pieces as well as its role in discussing
prominent issues of that time. The study of literature goes deeper than the definition of the words written in paper,
collected into a book, it dives into waters that discuss its societal implications and the perspective it wants you to
see. It is more than just reading what it means but seeing what it wants to show.

This piece flakes out literature intricately that there really isn’t much to add as novel insight. Nevertheless,
extensions of already present analysis still is new contribution and hence insight. Literature has always been
personal, it is a way to escape reality, as you flip every page and shift from chapter to chapter it draws you into a
universe far from yours, and live both the sorrows and victories of the shoes you are filling. Though momentarily, it
is an experience that shaped a large portion of my perspective in life. This discussion was briefly touched in the
article. Literature has the power to instill values and vantage points into individuals. But this takes a whole deal of
reflection and an already present thirst for a deeper understanding of the narrative, at least from my experience. It is
hard to draw conclusions that becomes a way of life without that inner quest to draw chiasmic meanings and
substantial realizations, but without a doubt even without these brilliant, life changing conclusions literature at the
very least is an art work fun to read like how a painting may hang on a wall lifeless but still is a sight to see in its
most superficial understanding.

Another feat I would like to emphasize is the elaborate way literature reflects the era or society it was
written in. Unlike visual arts, literary arts provide us with a detailed description of the various cultures that inspired
it. As words, turn to sentences, and sentences into paragraphs, then into chapters, these lengthy reads composed of
situations, settings and conflicts derived from the culture that inspired it truly reflect the time the piece was born.
Words used properly, appeals to the senses making one’s fictional tale a reality once read. As inspiration in any era
is drawn from reality literature with its creative writing elaborately depicts history. One can say literature is a door
through time, taking readers to places beyond the limits of their reality and into the imagined future through sci-fi or
into the past with mythology. With its ability to make one see, feel, hear, taste and smell through prose it is no
surprise that literature is branded to be a more elaborate reflection of culture and society.

I always had a strong appreciation for the arts, and literature is not an exemption. Just as it is gorgeous to
see colors dance on a canvas and pleasing to have notes drown me in sensation, literature is just as amazing when it
lets me live another life, in another world and witness the story of the personas unfold or even first hand experience
the story itself. Its beauty lies in how hard it is to be appreciated, it’s time consuming to read a story most especially
if all you see is ink on paper. It takes a whole deal of imagination to truly appreciate a story and understand its
wonders. This article may help with that on a basic level, setting up foundation but a more fun, interactive, less work
intensive means of introducing literature can go a long way at teaching many its majesty.

When Fortune Left

When Fortuna abandoned life.

He detested his lonely state.
Whished instead he be pierced by a knife,
Than to go on without his mate.

He saw others with money and fortune.

Those of which he could only dream,
And realized no beauty was left in his time.
To face death is the best option it would seem.

He jumped into the chasm, and swam the Styx.

Drank death’s liquor filling his mouth to the brim.
Poor life believed he couldn’t be fixed.
Only the favor of the stars, he thought; could save him.

Alas no one came, who he loved was gone and fortune truly left.
He slashed his throat with Cupids cursed arrow, his life he theft.

ANNNOTATIONS:

1st Stanza (third and fourth line); A man’s sole pure adoration founds infinite devotion to thy partner. As
such death deters the end of his wife’s existence, he’s pleased enough to sacrifice his own life rather
letting his happiness go oblivion. 2nd Stanza (First and third line); A realized, and material love won’t be
measured by any worth. And when the dream that he owned at hand disappeared, gave him no life to wish
nor fulfill any other dream. 3rd Stanz; He faces despair and regrets to continue living. Can’t hold his
sadness and is incapable to relate the purpose of his presence in this world. 4 th Stanza (first line); Was left
alone cruising along his lifeless reality, has no company where his once partner already ends the journey.
The sonnet explains different situations all about love, how loosing that person, about life and suicide.
How life is somewhat meaningless if there’s no luck or fortune, theirs no reason to live if the universe
turns its back on you. If someone loose hope, they end their life and the things that’s hurting them and
come up to solution of taking their lives. Sometimes we can’t blame those people, because for some
reason they cannot see the hidden and uniqueness beauty of their lives for holding the thought “we are
born to die”.

TOLOSA; THE THREE TRIBES

One of Tolosa’s tribes is the Dagat. They had an abundance of fish and other sea creatures, which contributed to
their economic stability. Every day, when the boat sets sail, there are a lot of fish to catch, but humans are people,
and instead of selling them at a lower price, they double the price to earn more money when they sell them to the
other tribe. But one day, things in the sea flipped, and instead of numerous fishes, there were now only a few, only
to discover that they had been punished by their God for their wrongdoings.
If the Dagat tribe is known for its abundance of fish, the Mountain tribe is known for its rice fields. In their side of
town, the weather was always pleasant, providing the ideal temperature for the rice grains to germinate. They were
the only ones selling rice in the town, unlike the dagat tribe, this tribe only sells rice at the exact cost because they
understand how difficult it is to generate money, so they sell it for a lower price. When the mountain tribe learns that
the dagat tribe is overpricing their commodities, they become enraged because the dagat tribe is being unjust. And
they began to compete, which caused their God to be displeased.
The third tribe consists of government officials whose job it is to keep the area calm and free of bias. The dagat-
mountain tribe conflict had reached the government’s headquarters, and they were furious because they knew their
God would be terribly displeased in what was happening to the town.
Things were becoming increasingly complex. The government is unable to resolve the conflict between the two
remaining tribes, which resulted in a sword fight. As the battle began, even the most innocent of people were
harmed, and some even killed. In the midst of it all, a ray of light appeared that evening, and it turned out to be their
God. It was seen in the place how He was very disappointed of what was going on.
“I gave you everything you need to grow as a town, and all you have to do now is make the most of it without
engaging in any unlawful activities, but I was incorrect; you did it the other way around. I’m not sure what I did to
cause you to do this “uttered their God The three tribes were stoned because they didn’t know what to say; they
worship their God so much that seeing him dissatisfied crushes their hearts.
The government tribe began to kneel in front of their God, wailing and asking for forgiveness, and the two tribes
followed suit. Their sobs screamed for forgiveness and that they are willing to change simply to be pardoned. Their
God then heard their pleas and pardoned them as long as they changed their ways of life; there would be no more
tribes to divide them; instead, they would live as one without separation.
From then on, the town has been described as a “harmonious place.” People are rejoicing at every triumph. Singing
along to their karaoke, dancing like there’s no tomorrow, and laughing as if nothing is wrong. The other towns are
envious of how different this place is from theirs. It’s such a blessing to be in a situation where feuds don’t exist.
Despite the fact that this town had previously been divided into three, they were able to maintain good relations with
one another for the sake of the prosperity of their hometown TOLOSA. From three to one is how they came up with
the name TOLOSA, TOLO-USA.

Harry Potter has quite an adequate amount of not just mere fantasy but also the conflicts of reality. It just
not talks about magical being with unimaginable supernatural powers, also it depicts story of family, friendship and
school with all common struggles but with a sprinkle of fiction dust. Some other people may think that this amazing
piece of art is only for children who are longing for some bits of impossible things, but its not. Harry Potter is a story
wherein you can learn something valuable, more important things than just having an enormous amount of crazy
ability. It is a story of the boy-who-lived, conquered his great unknown together with his friends. Despite of losing
his parents from a very young age, he still felt that warm care from those people who believed in him. Believed that
he is the only key to end you-know-who’s dark reign.
For the, Potterheads, Harry Potter is our portkey to release the magical creature hidden in each one of us.
As for me, its plot gives me a parallel perception as to what a normal person experiences on a Muggle World.
Voldemort stands as our greatest fear, but because we protected the philosopher’s stone, opened the Chamber and
end its Secret, freed the Prisoner, passed the Goblet’s quest, we are one with the orders, revealed the Half-Blood
Prince, and faced the Deathly Hollows, we are now champions against our dark fear.
Harry embodies all of our society’s best qualities: bravery, intelligence, athleticism, and loyalty. He’s your typical
Classic Hero, the best of the best, the cream of the crop. Everyone knows that the guy will succeed. The issue is that
he’s so good that it no longer surprises us when he wins. Rowling throws plenty of failure his way (spoiler alert) to
keep us on our toes: the death of Sirius, the dissolution of his friendship with Dumbledore, and then Dumbledore’s
death. Rowling has to work hard to keep us wondering if Harry can succeed after all, because he is so capable.
Otherwise, the plot becomes monotonous.
Character arcs are something that great writers are always aware of. Protagonists must evolve and change.
We’ll lose interest in them if we don’t. It can be difficult to demonstrate development in the Classic Hero. How can
they improve when they’re already perfect? That is why authors frequently make their heroes orphans (e.g.
Superman, Batman, Harry Potter, every fantasy book ever written). This inspires the hero to put an end to the great
evil in the world that has so deeply wounded them. Of course, as they heal others, they find themselves healing.
