Title: Replacement Battery Service Instructions.

1.0 Introduction

This Service Procedure describes how to replace the rechargeable battery in an

Aeroneb Pro Control Module.

2.0 Scope

This procedure is applicable to all Aeroneb Pro Control Modules.

Note: Only Personnel trained and authorized by MAQUET shall be permitted to

perform this procedure.

3.0 Equipment and Materials

The equipment and materials required for this procedure are as follows:
Phillips screwdriver, ESD protection (wrist strap or heel strap with appropriate
grounding), replacement battery service kit (Maquet p/n 6647882).

4.0 Replacement Procedure

1. Observe ESD precautions. 2. Remove four screws using a Philips

 3. Separate the control module into two halves.
Note:
Do not allow the battery and thermistor
combination to be suspended from their cables,
thereby putting undue pressure on the
thermistor.
5. Select a new Battery from the rechargeable
battery replacement kit and connect it to the
PCB assembly.
4. Using a pointed implement push down on the
tabs retaining the battery in place and remove
the battery by pulling away from the connector.
Note:
Worn-out batteries must be recycled or
disposed of properly in accordance with
appropriate industrial and environmental
standards.

6. Ensure that the battery and thermistor are
arranged as shown above. The thermistor
(component with white leads) is fragile.
Carefully lay the thermistor on the foam
piece as shown above.

7. While holding the battery assembly to the
underside of the PCB assembly, place the PCB
assembly back into the base. Allow the ferrite to
seat under the PCB assembly in the recess as
shown. Slot the connector into the space provided
in the base.
8. Place the top half of the control module on to
the lower half of the control module (prepared
per point 7).
Close the control module casing by replacing
the four screws and clipping the clear LED into
the side of the control module.

9. Battery charging. 10. Complete the service history record provided.

Return to the Quality Manager, Aerogen
Connect the uncharged control module to an (Ireland) Ltd. – see contact details overleaf.
AC/DC adapter which is connected to a mains
supply.

The Battery charge LED shall illuminate

amber to indicate charging has begun. Record
this on the Rechargeable Battery Service
History Record.

Note:
If the Battery charge indicator illuminates
green instantly, this condition can mean that
the battery is not connected. In this case check
the battery connection.

Allow battery to fully charge -- Minimum 4

hours.

Battery charge LED shall illuminate green,

indicating that the battery is fully charged.
