Diara: Safiya, I have something to tell you.
Safiya: What's that Mom?
Diara: I have to travel abroad.
Safiya: What for Mom?
Diara: Safiya, you know how we're doing right now, right? I had to look for a job abroad
because I don’t have enough money for a living. And it is also for your own good and for your
future.
Safiya: Mom please you don't have to leave me.
Diara: You're going to college, and your expenses will be expensive. I want to provide
everything you need.
Safiya: I know that Mom but I’d rather choose to study in public school that be in prestigious
universities.
Diara: This is for you my lovely daughter. I will provide everything for you to have brighter
future. Okay?
Safiya: Looks like you don't need my opinion Mom. I need you here. But if you want to leave,
it's up to you. (Safiya walked out)

(At the Airport)

Ameline: Do you really have to leave Diara?
Diara: Yes Ameline. For my daughter’s future.
Ameline: It really seems that Safiya doesn’t want you to leave. Listen to your daughter.
Diara: I have no choice but to do this. You take care of her please. That’s only I’m asking you.
Ameline: Okay, just be careful. Call us when you are there.
(One year later)
(Video call)
Diara: Safiya, you’re so beautiful.
Safiya: (she ignores her mother’s call)
Diara: Safiya, I'll send your allowance to buy new shoes. You know that I earned so much here.
Safiya: Aren’t you coming home yet?
Diara: Safiya, it’s good here. If I could save enough money and buy new house here, I will get
you here. Paris is for you, let’s build our future here.
Safiya: (Sigh) just send the money to my account.
Diara: Yes dear. So how’s your study?
Safiya: It's okay (snobbish)
Diara: How does college life?
Safiya: Do we have to talk about that Mom? I'm tired. Let’s talk later. Bye!!!
Diara: Okay, study hard dear. Bye! (end of call)
(At School)
Aerin: I miss you Safiya!!!
Safiya: I'm annoyed. My mother really chose to work abroad. She knew that dad was gone and
now she left me. Am I not enough for her to stay?
Aerin: What do you mean? Abroad? You don't like it? Your mom will earn a lot, she'll give you
many expensive things.
Safiya: I don't need that.
Aerin: Well, you're kind of in that situation? I will miss you soon!!!

(Tau and Arden glancing at Safiya)

Arden: Approach her bro. You are so slow.
Tau: What? I’m not slow. Watch me!
Arden: Wow!
Tau: Uhhh, Hi?
Safiya: What do you need?
Tau: You. Oops. Nothing. You are so upset that you need to talk.
Safiya: I'm sorry but I don't need it. I don't have time with you. Excuse me. (walked out)
Arden: What happened? *Laugh
Tau: Let's wait! I'll get that girl!
(At Safiya’s Residence)
Ameline: How are you, Safiya?
Safiya: I’m okay.
Ameline: Did you miss your mom?
Safiya: We know that she's in abroad, right? So, for what else?
Ameline: Don't do that to your mother Safiya! She sacrificed everything for you.
Safiya: Oh really? I'm going to sleep.
Ameline: She does everything for you. Can't you see that? Just thanked her.
Safiya: What do you want me to do?! What do you want me to thank for? That she is not here
and working in abroad? We could still live without her. To be honest, I don't want her to leave.
Because she is what I need.

(Vid call)
Diara: I miss you Safiya.
Safiya: If you will send a money, you can talk to Aunt Ameline. I'm going to school.
Diara: All right. Can I talk to you for a second?
Safiya: Okay, go.
Diara: Safiya, I'll stay here for a few years. Because my boss says he'll raise my wages because
they love my service.
Safiya: (shocked)
Diara: Just be careful always. Your mother will miss you.
Safiya: (phone turned off)
Safiya: Why does that have to be? *crying
(Aerin’s calling)
Aerin: Safiya!! Ohhhh. Why are you crying?
Safiya: Why did you call?
Aerin: I'll just ask if you're coming in. Because we planned to get absent.
Safiya: Where are you?
Aerin: At our spot.
Safiya: I'm going. Bye!

(Their Favorite Place to Hangout)

Friends: Yow!
Aerin: Ms. Grade Conscious is here now.
Tau: I’m so lucky.
Arden: It's your chance bro.
Aerin: Safiya, come here.
Safiya: Thank you.
Aerin: I'll introduce you to my friends first. That's my sweetheart honeybunch, Arden and here's
Tau.
Tau: Hi miss, you again.
Safiya: *smiles
Aerin: What’s your problem, Safiya?
Safiya: Nevermind. I'm here to forget my problem.
Tau: What do you need?
Safiya: Do you have any advice to forget my problem?
Arden: Ow here! (Giving weeds)
Safiya: What's that?
Tau: That's a plant. I will teach you how to use it.
Aerin: Let's go!
ALL: (drinking alcohol and taking weeds)

(At Safiya’s Residence)

Ameline: Why are you drunk?
Safiya: Aunt, ofcourse, I drink alcohol. Isn’t it obvious?
Ameline: Are you kidding me?
Safiya: What should I answer?
Ameline: When did you learn to drink?
Safiya: When Mom leave me!
Ameline: What are you doing in your life? I'll call your mom right now!
Safiya: I don’t care! (Walked out)
Ameline: Safiya!

(At School)
Tau: Safiya, are you coming home early?
Safiya: Why do you ask?
Tau: Because there will be a party at home. You might want to go with Aerin.
Safiya: All right. Let’s go!
Tau: All right!! Let's go!!

(Tau’s Residence)
(Safiya and friends were continuously drinking)
Tau: Are you sleepy?
Safiya: Yes, yes
Tau: You want to sleep here. The room is empty.
Safiya: All right
Aerin: That's okay.
Tau: Anyway, I'll just bring Safiya in my bedroom.
Arden: Okay, be careful. (Laughing)
Tau: All right.

5 DAYS AFTER
(Safiya is vomiting in the school bathroom)
Aerin: What's wrong with you?
Safiya: I don't know either. Maybe I just ate something.
Aerin: I have something to ask.
Safiya: What?
Aerin: Did something happen to you and Tau?
Safiya: What a joke. I'm not pregnant. I am sure of that.
Aerin: You have to buy a pregnancy test so we can be sure.
Safiya: Hmmmmm

(At Safiya’s Residence)

(PREGNANCY TEST POSITIVE)
Ameline: What's that?
Safiya: (hiding the PT)
Ameline: (grabbed the PT)
Ameline: What's this Safiya? Is this yours?
Safiya: Aunt! I'm sorry. Please forgive me Aunt.
Ameline: What did you do? Why did you do this? Why?
Safiya: Please forgive me. I didn't mean to.
Ameline: What will your mom think? What do you think she’ll going to say? Ha? Can you
imagine?
Safiya: (Crying) I will take care of the baby.

(AFTER 2 MONTHS)
Diara: Safiya
Safiya: (no response)
Diara: I'm here. I heard about your pregnancy. Safiya, let's talk! (Very angry)
Safiya: Ohhh? Did I dream and suddenly you came home? And who do you call your child?
Diara: Safiya, what are you doing? What are you saying?
Safiya: I don't know. Do you know?
Diara: What do you mean?
Safiya: YOU LEFT REMEMBER? Then, you are saying that why am I like this? This is your
fault, can't you see that? Ha?
Diara: How dare you?! Oh you must have forgotten your mom for a bit!
Safiya: Yes. Since you left me, I don't know you anymore!
Diara: (Slap Safiya) I haven't left you! I didn't go abroad just for myself. I'm leaving for your
future!
Safiya: You came back here because I started to rebel.
Diara: Safiya, I'm doing everything for you! I'm struggling overseas to provide what you need!
Don't you see that?
Safiya: You don't understand me. That's not what I need! I don't want you to leave!
Diara: I had no choice Safiya. Do you think I want to leave? No Safiya! NO! Because I know
I'm going to suffer! I don't like that! But here you are! We're here! You're my child! My
obligation is to give you a good future. I don't want you to experience hardship! You’re telling
me that I don't understand you? Did you understand me? Did you sometimes try to impress me?
Everytime I call you, you always end the call. Do you think I wasn’t hurt? Every time you eat
and waste money? Have you ever wondered how much food I have to eat to send money? Did
you think that? No! Because you're just thinking about yourself! You don't see my sacrifices. Do
you know how much it hurts for a mother? If you can't consider me as your mother. Respect me
as a person! Please Safiya!
