MECHANICS FOR THE CHRISTMAS LANTERN MAKING 2020

1. In line with the Christmas Celebration, ONE IX shall spearhead a Christmas Lantern
Contest with the theme “Padayun Gihapun, NEDA IX Pasko’y Palipayun .” to show the
resiliency of the family amid the Pandemic.

2. All divisions including the guards/utilities (considered as 1 division/group) will make and
decorate their Christmas Lantern starting on November 16, 2020.

3. The requirements for a qualified Christmas Lantern for the contest are as follows:

a. The Christmas Lantern must depict/portray the theme.


b. The Christmas Lantern should be created using recyclable and/or existing and used
materials found in the surroundings. Hence, the materials should not be bought.
c. The required size of the Christmas Lantern shall not be more than or lower than 30
inches in diameter if round shape or if measured in width/length.
d. The holy family should be included in the Christmas Lantern to signify family as the
basic unit of the society and represent NEDA IX Office to be a family, as well.
e. The Christmas Lantern should be submitted not later than December 8, 2020. About
6 Christmas Lanterns are expected to be submitted as entries. These would be
displayed at the Office premises to provide the spirit of Christmas especially during
this trying times.

4. Considering the COVID 19 pandemic that restricts the physical presence of the staff in
the Office, the challenge would depend on how the group would deliver their output.

5. There will be three judges for the Christmas Lantern Contest, which include the Regional
Director, Asst. Regional Director and a selected judge.

6. Criteria for the Christmas Lantern Making contest as follows:

a. Creativity and 30%


Originality
b. Materials used 25%
c. Content/Message 30%
d. Over-all 15%
Appearance
Total 100%

7. Prizes for the Christmas Lantern Making Contest are as follows:


Champion – cash worth P2,000
1st Runner up - cash worth P1,5000
2nd Runner up - cash worth P1,000
Consolation prizes - cash worth P500

8. Winners of the Christmas Lantern Making contest would be announced during the
Christmas Fellowship (December ___2020 evening).
