COURSE OUTCOME:
1. Understand the concepts of analysis of structure by methods: slope deflection, Flexibility method, Stiffness
method, Plastic analysis. Approximate Methods: Portal and cantilever method, numerical method Finite
Difference and FEM.
2. Apply analysis methods to indeterminate beams, rectangular portal frames, pin jointed plane trusses and
approximate methods to multistoried frames and Numerical methods to determinate beams.
3. Analyze indeterminate beams, rectangular portal frames pinpointed plane trusses, approximate methods to
multistoried frames and Numerical methods to determinate beams.
4. Evaluate Shear force and Bending Moment.

CO1 State the application of Finite element Method. [3]

CO2 A simply supported beam of span 6m carries UDL 12 kN/m over entire span. Taking four [7]
nodes determine the deflection at nodal points using finite difference method.
