At the second theoretical meeting, the Multimedia Concept course, learning was carried out
independently by reading books, modules, and lecture resources given by Mr. Fendy. There are
five books or modules given, first entitled "Fundamentals of Multimedia by Ze-Nian Li, Mark S.
Drew, Jiangchuan Liu", then "Digital image processing by Gonzalez, Rafael C. Woods, Richard
E", "Digital Image Processing". Using MATLAB by Rafael C. Gonzales, Richard E. Woods,
Steven L. Eddins", "Handbook of Image and Video Processing by Alan C. Bovik", and "Digital
Video and Audio Broadcasting Technology A Practical Engineering Guide by Walter Fischer".
Mr. Fendy, gave us the task of working on a journal and reading the source of the book entitled
"Fundamentals of Multimedia by Ze-Nian Li, Mark S. Drew, Jiangchuan Liu" on pages 3 to 24. I
can find out what multimedia is about because in the book, multimedia is explained. In addition,
the components of multimedia are also explained. Various modalities of text, audio, image,
image, animation, video, and Interactivity in multimedia is utilized in various ways.
Then I also know there is Multimedia Past and Present, Early History of Multimedia, begin with
newspapers, which were perhaps the first mass communication medium, using text, graphics, and
images. Before still-image camera was invented, these graphics and images were generally hand-
drawn. I also know who produced or captured using the camera in the first place. Joseph
Nicephore Niépce captured the first natural image from his window in 1826 using a sliding
wooden box camera. It was made using an 8 h exposure on pewter coated with bitumen. Later,
Alphonse Giroux built the first commercial camera with a double-box design. It had an outer box
fitted with a landscape lens, and an inner box holding a ground glass focusing screen and image
plate. Sliding the inner box makes objects at different distances be in focus. Furthermore, on
page 10-13 it is explained about Hypermedia, WWW, internet, HyperText Markup Language
(HTML), and Extensible Markup Language (XML). I also know Multimedia in the New
Millennium, such as multimedia services as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and TikTok.
Besides that, I also know various multimedia software such as Adobe CC, Cakewalk by Bandlab,
GIMP, iMovie, Autodesk, and many more. And also this book tells about The Future of
Multimedia.
