As of my experience, the Department of Accounting Education promotes

sustainability program by conducting environmental activities like tree planting
and coastal clean-up drive during Accountancy week and JPIA’s celebrations
which was participated by both professors and students. These activities will
hopefully contribute to bring back the good condition of the ecological health of
the critical environment we have in the city as of today.

2. Using a Triple Venn Diagram, differentiate the concepts of Greenhouse Effect,

Global Climate Change, and Global Warming.

 3. List down 5 pros and 5 cons of Sustainable consumption. Answers should be
longer than 2 sentences.

5 pros:

 Having clean and refreshing air in the environment which prohibit the
tendency of pollutions to arise.
 Sustainable consumption improved the health of every person due to the use
of safer and eco-friendly materials.
 Constructing Green buildings will help minimize waste with their lower
environmental impact and use of renewable sources and materials.
 Environmentally friendly workspaces help employees perform better while
reducing absenteeism. The better the environment, the easier it is to
concentrate and work effectively toward the completion of tasks.

 The use of solar heaters, insulated air-conditioning pipes and photovoltaic

panels is encourage to increase our environmental protection which can make
buildings more energy efficient and less harmful to the environment.

5 cons:

The political cost to committing to the environment. The deep political divides in
society mean that some political powers won’t want to commit to sustainable
initiatives.

Increase cost of equipment that is needed to develop and maintain sustainability.

Due to technological-based environment, workers may loss their jobs due to

sustainable development may relies to new energy sources.

The adoption to the adjustments connecting to the new ways of living to maintain the
sustainability may takes time and resistance is also being observed.

Sustainable approaches will naturally lead to increased regulation on construction

and the daily operation of businesses. A greater commitment to the environment will
lead to tighter controls on how people live their lives.
 4. 6R’s will be soon available on books to best answer the unraveling
environmental problems. But as 5R’s remains as is, what do you think are the
reasons why Environmental Organizations has to developed 5R’s into 6R’s in
less than 10 years from now?
(Refuse, Reduce, Rethink, Repair, Recycle, Replace)

Creating eco-friendly products to replaced the harmful ones are vital to the
health of our environment. Since they are using recycled materials, might as
well to manufacture and produced it to the marketplace to replace and
promote safer and green products. Goods came from recovered materials and
is reproduced, contains fewer harmful chemical while helping reduced
emissions in production at the same time. So, the point of adding “Replace”
and making it 6R’s is in order for any change to take place, people must first
make a conscious effort to do so and that is to replace their current lifestyle
into a living that is guided by the 5R’s.

 Learning how the natural world works
 Understand how we humans interact with the environment
 Determine how human actions affects environment

Assessing the environmental situation of the world. It is a key to know how are we
going to make a decision to address the problems.

Formulating programs that is probably inclined to the sustainable development. This

serves as a guide on what are we going to do to achieve sustainability.

Taking action to the programs created and being consistent to the development of
sustainability needs to be focused to counter the bad effects of the natural calamities
and help the community to become environmentally healthy.
6. Why Environmental Problems is becoming the top concerns amongst leaders
and countries around the globe?

The environment plays a big role to prolonged the life of our Mother Earth.
That’s why this become the primary concern of everybody around the globe.
The environmental factor connects to the way of living of every country man. If
the environment of a country is destroyed and ignored, the attack of natural
calamities may result to a massive destruction of a community due to a poor
environmental sustainability. Taking good care of the environment means
wanting to have a good living.
