EXISTENTIALISM

The theory of existentialism is considered as the most

individualistic of all modern philosophies. It is concerned
with the individual and his primary value is the absolute
freedom of the person who is the only what he makes
himself be. This philosophy or theory is a fundamentally
person-centered. It concerns on the person’s personal
experience. It allows us to choose our own commitments
in life which we believe is righteous and depresses fear
and anxiety. The mere existence of the person is where
this philosophy revolves. That each one of us, including
our students has their own purpose and way of living.
There is a purpose of our existence and how we deal with
our commitments matters.
In this globally competitive world, teachers are
tasked to produce globally competitive individuals who
are holistically ready and capable. But the reality is, not
all people or students tend to live according to what they
want them to be, and it is all because of existentialism.
We all have a purpose and we all have this existence that
precedes essence.
