ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY

Adverbs of frequency tell us how frequently something happens. They are used before the main
verb, but after the verb ‘to be’.

ex. He often flies to Paris. Sb + adv + vb


He is sometimes late. Sb + to be + adv

Always 100% ☺☺☺☺ - întotdeauna


Usually 75% ☺☺☺ - de obicei
Often 50% ☺☺ - adesea
Sometimes 25% ☺ - uneori
Never 0% ☹ - niciodată

Ex. I always walk to school.


I usually stay late at school on Monday.
I am often late for school.
I sometimes go out with my friends.
I never go to bed before ten o’clock.

Make a rule by choosing the correct word.


1. Adverbs of frequency come before / after the main verb.
2. Adverbs of frequency come before / after the verb to be.

EXERCISE
Answer the questions. Use adverbs of frequency – ALWAYS, USUALLY, OFTEN, SOMETIMES,
NEVER.

Ex. I always have a glass of milk for breakfast.
