“The latest Pride-themed effort from Skittles seeks to use the brand's platform and packaging to
spotlight and support the LGBTQ community in a variety of ways. The brand can engage with consumers
in different markets with its murals in Newark, New Jersey; Nashville, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; and
San Antonio, Texas, delivering stories from the artists, content about Pride and resources from GLAAD
about how members of the LGBTQ community and their allies can support the community. Along with its
Pride-focused website, Skittles can amplify the effort with its partnerships with influencers, including Blair
Imani, an author, historian and activist who identifies as a Black, bisexual and Muslim woman and noted
the importance of education about intersectionality and visibility in press materials.” I believe that this
article is related to this subject for it talks about Marketing and consumers. Nowadays, many are
supporting the LGBTQ community that’s why in this article, their target audience is The LGBTQ community
and of course the people that supports them. One thing I’ve learned about Principles of Marketing is to
be updated and to know who your target audience is. Being updated is a big advantage when it comes to
marketing because you need to know what the consumers wants at the moment. On the other hand, it’s
important to know and develop your buyer personas to ensure you’re targeting the right people and
focusing on their needs and how you can help to solve their problems, in order to build up a good
reputation. It is said that It’s not about how big or powerful you are, but how you can solve your
customer’s problems in a smart and efficient way.
