Ethics vs. Profit

Questions:
1. What are the ethical problems mentioned in this particular case and what are the
probable causes of these problems?
- The ethical problems mentioned in this particular case is where the company
had a sudden changes and unplanned decisions in the organizations which
leads to a problem. As I noticed, the company is more focusing in making
profit than personal ethical standard. Furthermore, they participates in a
highly competitive market so that the company forcing all of the managers in
different decentralized center to meet the standards which is to gain more
profit even in the illegal ways until they will reach their certain goal. It means
that they show moral deeds but it is illegal and not ethical in one
organizations. Next, it is good to plan all of the steps that they will make
because not all managers are adaptable in changes of the environment.
Lastly, in this case they can lose employees or the manager ethical standard
than losing money.

2. Is it all right to do something illegal or unethical to maintain the company’s image

and profitability?
- Definitely no, it is not right to do something illegal to maintain the company’s
image and profitability because you can reach your certain goal without doing
this. If you do some illegal activities you just destroying the reputation of the
company especially the ethical standards of your employees. Then, mission
and vision of your company is the main standards or basis on how you will
give the quality goods and services that you offer. Also it is the employees set
of guidelines on how they will act properly. The company should always look
for a long term and legal plan and actions. It is more important to build trust
with the customers and satisfied their wants and needs. Lastly, accept the
fact that the corporate world is not about success and sometimes it will fail but
those failures will lead you to learn and to win back, grow and become more
profitable. It is not always the profit but is how you will give a good image to
your organization.

3. If you are the CEO of the company, what would you do and why?
- If I am the CEO of the company, the first thing that I will do is to have a good
plan before making decisions. I will think first my employees and respect their
ethical standards. I believe that we have different perceptions and character
that possessed. Maybe I can do some actions that I will gain some profit but
how about my employees that will not be beneficial on my decisions. I believe
that we are in a one company and have a single objective. If we fail and we
didn’t meet the standards of the competition, I will learn to accept and explain
to them in a nice way. I know money is important but the most important is the
clients who are always supporting and patronizing my products. I will find
ways and some strategy that I can make money legally and have ethical
standards which I will not destroy the image of my company that I represent in
corporate world. Lastly, I believe that the true success is not defined on the
awards, money or other incentives but it is how you enjoy it without stepping
others dignity.
