Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to apply for the position of the sales associate. While searching for jobs, the role of an engaging individual
who is artistically creative and open to new challenges caught my eye. With the ever-growing sensation of social networks
and media, appearance and fashion are becoming things that people give more and more attention to. The Urban Outfitters
brand is constantly pushing the line of setting trends, and I would love to be a part of that.

In June of 2015, I graduated from an arts school in Beaverton known as Arts and Communications Magnet Academy. My
middle school and high school years were filled with emphasis on creative expression in my chosen field of visual arts. To
this date, I have had six years of practice in the area of visual artistry, namely in photography and film. During this time, I
have constantly taken it upon myself to build my own projects, such as organizing and executing shoots with other like-
minded individuals. Being surrounded by creative and artistic individuals has lead me to graduate with a film
endorsement, and pursue my visual arts interest at Portland State University this coming Fall. Working at Urban Outfitters
would benefit myself and the company, as promoting expressiveness and creativity are our common strengths.

Since the age of seven, I have been captivated by the art of close-up magic and prestidigitation. This has led me to
continue studying the artform and grow as a performer. In my almost eleven years of experience, I have been hired for
events to bring entertainment and laughter to all. From house parties to large-scale corporate events, I am passionate about
meeting new people, and creating connections over bewilderment and awe. This practice has made me more than
comfortable with talking to people. Being hired as a sales associate would allow me to create a fun, welcoming
environment alongside other similar employees.

Alongside connecting with others, leadership has always been a predominate role in my life. Since the age of three, my
mother and instructor has kept me motivated to practice in the traditional Korean martial art of Soo Bahk Do. I now teach
children and adults the foundations of movement and self-discipline at my mom’s studio in Camas, Washington. These
skills have brought discipline into my life, which translates over into my creative work. Maintaining consistency and
proper work-flow ethic has led me to become the artist I am. I believe this can only benefit the sales associate position in
an instance where I were to be hired.

After review of the job description, I have found that the sales associate position at Urban Outfitters would be more than a
perfect fit for an individual such as myself. Both myself and the store would find benefits pertaining to growth and
advancement in the field of creativity and self-expression through fashion. I would love to be interviewed, at your
discretion. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you.

Sincerely,
Sean Oulashin
