Jesus continued: I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever remains in me, and I in
them, bears much fruit. For, cut off from me you
can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in
me is like a branch that has been thrown away. It
withers. These branches are collected and
thrown into the fire and they are burnt
(John 15:5-6).

Only when the branches are joined to the main

stem, life – giving sap will flow into the
branches. That life-giving sap gives power to the
branches to grow and bear fruit.

4
If the branches are not united to the stem, what will
happen? The branches will not get the required
nourishment and water for their maintenance and
growth and they will dry up. They will lose their life.

Jesus is the vine. We are

the branches. We get
life from Jesus. Those
who believe in Jesus
and obey His words
obtain divine life. They
are able to produce
good fruits.
5
What shall we do to be united with Jesus? We must
abide by His words. Jesus said: “If you keep my
commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I
have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in
His love” (John 15:10).

6
If we don’t obey His
words, what will
happen to us?
We will move away
from Jesus and lose
divine life.

Let us remain
united with Jesus,
the source of life.
Let us obey His
words. Loving
Jesus and doing
good to all, let us
bear fruit.

We need divine life to live united with Jesus
fulfilling our mission and growing in fellowship and unity
with our brethren. Jesus instituted the sacraments to
impart this divine life.

13
Jesus gives us His own divine life through
the sacraments Thus, He sanctifies, empowers
and builds the Church constantly.

It is through the Church that Jesus gives divine life

to the world. Today Jesus gives this life through the
Church.

Each one of us is a living member of the Church-

the body of Christ. We who receive divine life
through sacraments have certain missions to fulfill.
Let us be united with Jesus and fulfill our duties
and responsibilities. Then the life of Jesus will flow
into us and through us to others.

When we received baptism we got divine life and the
status of the children of God. We also became
members of the Church. Let us be earnest in not
losing the fruits of this holy sacrament.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of all things visible and invisible,
and in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only begotten Son of God,
The first born of all creation,
born of the Father before all ages
And not made, true God from true God,
Consubstantial with his Father.
Through Him the worlds were formed
and all things were created

For the sake of us men and for our

salvation He came down from heaven;
and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit
And became man, and was conceived
and Born of the virgin Mary.

He suffered and was crucified in the days

of Pontius Pilate And died and was
buried; and on the third day rose again as
it is written.

He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of His Father.
He will come again to judge the dead and the living
I believe in one Holy Spirit; the spirit of truth, who Proceeds from the
Father (and the Son) The life-giving Spirit.
I believe in one, holy catholic, and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the remission of sins, the resurrection of the
body and life everlasting.

Amen.
